Hello, my name is Damian Coenen. I work as treasurer at Stichting Bildung Platform Nijmegen.
I graduated as a lawyer in 2021 and currently work as a protection administrator. As such, I am at the centre of the social domain.

I am a critical person. I do not shy away from big challenges and do not take on just anything.

Hello my name is Adnan Sisman.

In recent years I have worked as an intercultural consultant for disadvantaged groups in Nijmegen and surrounding areas.
In addition to help with practical matters such as interpreting, reading letters from authorities and help with applications for social security programs, I tried to form a bridge between this group and nonprofit organizations that organize social events.
I am therefore convinced that it is very important to bring people from different backgrounds together for a dialogue, so that we can learn with each other, but especially from each other.
I now want to use my practical experiences through Bildung Nijmegen to organize activities for young people, such as workshops, Erasmus+ projects and cultural activities.

My name is Claudia, I am a visual artist and singer. Since 2017, I have been active as a volunteer mainly in social/youth work. I guide and train young people in a non-formal education manner. In other words, learning by doing. In 2023, I became a board member at Bildung. Why Bildung? Bildung is committed to young people. We at Bildung believe it is important that young people can learn not only from ``us``, trainers, but also from each other. I enjoy promoting this form of learning and sharing it with everyone. And I hope to motivate others to do the same.

Bildung betekent voor mij een vrijplaats om vrij en zonder oordeel met elkaar van gedachten te wisselen over onderwerpen die soms scherpe tegenstellingen in zich hebben. We leven in zeer roerige tijden, polarisatie vindt op allerlei niveaus plaats waardoor de vrijheid van meningsuiting en daarmee de democratie onder druk staat. Stichting Bildung heeft de bedoeling deze vrijplaats te zijn, een plaats waar het debat en de dialoog over zeer uiteenlopende onderwerpen aan bod komen zodat ontplooiing van alle menselijke kwaliteiten bewerkstelligd kan worden. Door het organiseren van deze dialoog en door in gesprek te zijn met elkaar wordt het kritisch denken gestimuleerd. Hier lever ik vanuit mijn persoonlijke interesses graag een bijdrage aan.

Hello, I am Keyshia, hailing from lively Nijmegen. With a wealth of experience in event planning and management, I am an expert in creating unforgettable moments. As a passionate social media content creator and website builder, I know how to bring brands and ideas to life online. My networking skills enable me to make valuable connections between people and organisations. My background in media, including hosting, filming, podcasting and video editing, has given me a versatile toolkit to tell stories in a dynamic way. Familiar with the hotspots for young people in Nijmegen, I have built a network essential for reaching and engaging this target audience. My good contacts with local media companies are a testimony to my dedication and competence in this field. Since 2014, I have gained a wealth of work and life experience as a youth worker at various organisations. These experiences have strengthened my ability to support and mentor young people. I am Virgil Eijkhout although everyone knows me as Viri.

In this Nijmegen landscape, I am involved in all sorts of things to do with culture, from volunteering at social organisations to working at festivals, and I can also be found within a whole host of subcultures.

Within Bildung I mainly want to organise events and contribute to Erasmus+ projects.

I am Veronica, from Italy. I left my country at 17, lived a while in Brazil and I am now studying Artificial Intelligence in the Radboud, Nijmegen.

My greatest passion is travelling, through which I am able to explore the more varied cultures and lifestyles. In our differences and uniqueness I find the inspiration to model and improve my own values and perspective.

I’m a Professor of Philosophy of Behavioural Sciences and author of a plea for different education: Gevormd of Vervormd (Shaped or Distorted) ? I would love to create a location outside all existing educational institutions where people can engage in person development every day in an everyday way. That location should be called De Tussentijd (The Meantime).

Hi am Rebecca-Elisa de Jeer, a spontaneous International Social Work student at the HAN with a heart for language and culture. In my spare time, I dance, sing and like to travel the world to get to know new people and cultures. I already had the chance to do this a few times through Erasmus+, including through Bildung Nijmegen. These valuable experiences have inspired me to show my fellow students its opportunities and offer help if they also want to discover Erasmus +. I have been doing that since September through membership of the Europeers Network and want to do it locally through Bildung Nijmegen. I find Bildung especially so fascinating because through experiences and art you can learn very differently, super fun and personal also for everyday life. The Bildung Lumbung performance project showed me what that can look like in concrete terms. This explored a different non-Western view of working with others as a community. Als Docent Beeldend aan de HAN heb ik een jarenlange ervaring in het organiseren van bildung vanuit kunst. Bij ArtEZ schreef ik een masterscriptie over bildung en performance. Ik heb gezien welke positieve impact deze onderwijsbenadering voor studenten èn docenten kan hebben. Het is van groot belang dat vanuit bildung een tegenwicht georganiseerd blijft ten opzichte van de neoliberale benadering van onderwijs als efficiënt te organiseren onderwijsfabriek waar het persoonlijke van studenten en docenten nog altijd tussen wal en schip raakt.
